⛔ BNP, Jamaat, NCP stick to their positions

On Saturday, Professor Muhammad Yunus, held meetings with leaders from BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) to discuss the country’s current political situation and the upcoming elections. BNP demanded a clear roadmap for elections and urged the government to maintain neutrality. Jamaat-e-Islami focused on election timing, reforms, and justice for the July-August atrocities, emphasizing that reforms must be completed before holding elections for them to be credible. NCP expressed distrust in the Election Commission and called for reforms to ensure a level playing field and local elections before the national polls.

The meetings also touched on issues like governance challenges faced by the interim government and concerns over political protests disrupting normal functions. Though there were rumors about the Chief Adviser’s resignation, it was clarified after a meeting with the Cabinet that he would remain in office. All three parties expressed their support for Professor Yunus, despite their differing demands and positions.
