🤞 Inflation Falls Below 9% After 27 Months, Still Crossing Finger

Bd’s inflation dropped to 8.48% in June 2025, the lowest in over two years, sliding from 9.05% in May, with cheaper food (7.39%) and stuff like clothes (9.37%) helping out. But, the Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) falls 5.8% to 53.1, showing businesses and factories are slowing down, while GDP growth inched up to 4.86% in Q3, per the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics.

Economy is sending mixed signals: Inflation been peeking at 11.66% last July and stayed above 9% for ages, thanks to rising costs and global shocks. PMI jumped above 70 last year before crashing below 40, reflecting the ups and downs of the market and GDP growth is hanging around 3.97% for FY25

But here’s the catch: prices still rose 0.57% month-on-month in June, and wage growth continues to lag inflation-now for 41 months straight, inflation may be slowing, but the pressure hasn’t gone away.

Trump’s latest tariff blitz targets 14 countries, with Bd facing a 35% rate (down from 37%), announced via Truth Social as part of a broader “America First” tariff push, with a 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs extended to August 1.
